I have a confession to make.
I am going through a massive personal change. I realized I need to be more organized, build relentless discipline, and frankly, lose weight.
Last month, I hit a wall.
Between a Go-Live, a complex AI project, and delivering an advanced Orchestrator training, my energy tank hit zero. The daily grind consumed me, and I had no fuel left for the things that matter, like this community.
But hitting that wall taught me a valuable lesson about energy.
When you have limited energy, your tolerance for useless, repetitive tasks drops to absolute zero. You realize that doing robotic work is stealing your time and your company's money.
Let me give you a classic JD Edwards example.
If you want to promote a UDO (like an Orchestration) to a higher environment, you have to do this:
Find the objects in P98220U.
Share them.
Assign security.
Create an OMW Web project.
Add the objects to the project.
Checkout and Checkin (so the project gets the token).
Advance the project status.
Even for a single object, this takes several minutes.
If you are a developer or a CNC doing this manually for dozens of objects, you are wasting expensive hours doing administrative clicks instead of architecting solutions. That is a terrible business decision.
I hate repetitive tasks. So, I let my "laziness" take over.
I built an Orchestration that handles steps 2 through 5 automatically.
Now, I just select the object in P98220U, click a custom button I added using a Form Extension, and the Orchestrator does the heavy lifting.
I’ll be sharing this exact Orchestration with the students in my next advanced training.
Which brings me to an important point.
Over the last few days, I’ve realized many of you want access to these kinds of ready-to-use solutions and the knowledge to build them yourself.
I am putting together something big. Something designed for those who want to stop doing robotic work and become highly valued JDE Architects.
Tomorrow, I will open a very limited waiting list.
Those who join will get an exclusive "Founders Price" when I launch it.
